January:  So far we've had a lot of cold and a lot of snow.   The boys have enjoyed a fair amount of outdoor time.  Sam went downhill skiing for the first time ever.  Before I knew it he was going up the chairlift with his teacher and heading down steadily with no problem, not even bothered by the large ice patches typically found in Northeastern ski hills.  He and I did some skiing together too, which gets added to one of my best parenting moments.  Loved being out there with him for his sake, my sake, and all the happy memories I have from growing up and skiing with my family.

Bruce has taken the boys to a great sledding hill in Katonah.  Each time we consider all going, and getting Julia out there, but each time we decide it's just not worth the effort and the inevitable tears and then having to cut the whole thing short.  She's getting heavy enough for me to tote around, never mind with snow pants, coat and boots when I'm wearing all that gear too.  So maybe next year.  Considering she became hysterical when Bruce and I went in the snow tube in our front lawn with her and without her, I think we're making the right choice.
